I can see why the ratings are so high, this place is an absolute gem. The food is exceptional and I love that it’s BYO. Our favourites were the Wagyu Donburi and pork belly bao buns, honestly I haven’t had better ones anywhere. Both are must orders, so full of flavour. The pork tonkatsu and gyoza were also fantastic, and the char siu ramen was a solid 9/10. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every dollar. The high quality of ingredients and the taste of each dish was amazing. We may have over-ordered, but still managed to finish most of it (some dishes didn’t even make it to a photo before we devoured them). We were dining with our kids and they too loved it! So many kid friendly options. They too love the Wagyu donburi!

Clean plates and full bellies, a super tasty and intimate Japanese themed restaurant. There is a little wait but I can honestly say that it’s worth it. Every fried dish we got was super crispy and the ramen was rich and flavorful. My family tried basically everything and couldn’t get enough, especially of the Wagyu Donburi and takoyaki. Cannot recommend enough!

The food here is seriously next level! The wagyu beef donburi is the best tasting steak of any cuisine. Rest of the family rated the ramen most highly. Ettalong- and the Central Coast generally - needs restaurants like Kinji. Looking forward to many more meals here UPDATE: the pork tonkatsu rice lunch special is great value and delicious!

First time eating at Kinji tonight and most definitely won't be our last! What a gem of a restaurant... on arrival we were greeted and seated with a smile, we were given menus and ordered shortly after, service was prompt and wait staff were delightful. We ordered the tofu and it was divine, 4 big silky squares sitting in a delicious broth... yum!! We also got the fish cake bao bun... fresh and fluffy with a nice crunch from the slaw. We ordered the chicken skewers, they were tasty and came in a serve of 3. We also ordered the seaweed salad and hands down it was the best one we've ever had... seaweed, avo, pumpkin, edaname, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and mixed lettuce with a delicious dressing, outstanding! For mains we had 2 different ramen... the first was chicken karage with miso broth and it was tasty and warming and a good size, loaded with noodles and all the ramen bits. Second ramen was the signature 7 salt broth with tempura veg and it was just as good as the first, wasn't overly salty, just a really nice ramen. The tempura veg was yummy too... melt in your mouth. My daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish!! We saw the steak dish being served to the table next to us and we all agreed that it looked amazing and that we'll be ordering it next time!! Staff were friendly and attentative and made us feel very welcome. We're really happy you guys have open and wish you all the success, we'll definitely be back soon!! Thank you for a great experience

Food was delicious. Service was amazing. Our first time here. We ordered the Takoyaki and Prawn cake bun for starters. Had the Chicken Karaage & Wagyu beef Donburi with Garlic fired rice for mains. Finished off with a serving of black sesame ice cream. Loved it all: Will definitely try more dishes next time.

We had lunch at KinJi Noodle and Rice and loved it! The place is clean and welcoming, and the smell of the broth made us excited to eat. We started with pork gyoza and chicken takoyaki — both were crispy and tasty. The miso soup was amazing, rich and comforting. My wife had the wagyu beef donburi, which was rare and super tender. My daughter chose the chicken teriyaki, perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce. I made my own ramen with tom yum broth and wagyu beef, and it was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. They also have a great lunch special if you want something quick and tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful, and you can tell they really care about the food and service. It’s great they’re open on Mondays too — perfect for people working in hospitality like us. KinJi is a great new spot in Ettalong. Whether you want ramen or rice, they do it really well. I’ll definitely be back!
